The Tampa Bay Water Ski Show Team roots date back to the late 1950’s and a group called the Tampa Ski Bees. In 1977 the Ski Bees merged with a Lake Keystone group and officially became George’s Ski and Social Club in Odessa, FL. Through the 80’s the club continued to grow and traveled throughout the South to perform water ski shows and participate in water ski show competitions. In 1987 the Club’s achievements warranted a more serious and professional name, and the Team members voted to change the name to the U.S. Water Ski Show Team. By 1991 the Team officially became the Tampa Bay Water Ski Show Team, providing entertainment for our audiences across the Bay area and providing a healthy environment for the great sport of water skiing for our families.
Presently the team has over 100 total members ranging in age from 6 to over 60. Skiers include novices to experienced professionals who participate in the team practices, shows, competitions and social events. Not all our Team members are skiers! Non-skier support is vital to our Team and includes land and water support for our Team’s success.
To provide professional style entertainment for our audiences and to provide an opportunity for dedicated skiers to participate in an activity where they exercise responsibility, teamwork and leadership. We encourage family and community participation.
The Tampa Bay Water Ski Show Team is operated as a 501c3 tax exempt organization. Funding is primarily from contributions and paid ski show revenues and sponsorships.
